Lloyd and Ruth and the Lobster Hut

It was such a blessed sight to have Craig walk through the hotel room door Tuesday evening at 5:20pm. He doesn't even get home that early from work! I sure love being with my little guy, but after 2 1/2 days of him, me and our small hotel room, I was ready for a helping hand!

Tuesday night I actually got to join Craig and go out to dinner with him and some co-workers on Federal Hill! I thought this was a funny shot of Craig and Gage under the hanging flower basket:

We checked out of the Providence Hotel on Wednesday and made our way to Plymouth, MA, a place we have been before and have loved ever since. Our first stop:

The best seafood take-out you can find! We ate there 5 years ago on our honeymoon when we were passing through from Cape Cod to Boston. We fell in love with it, and the town in general. One year later we took a one-year anniversary trip and decided that staying in Plymouth would be part of our agenda. Of course we ate at the Lobster Hut again, probably a couple of times. My favorite thing to get: the lobster roll! Lobster salad on Texas toast, delicious!

This time, while standing in line, we struck up a conversation with a delightful elderly couple, Lloyd and Ruth (which is also the name of my dad's late uncle and his wife!). After some conversing we found out that Lloyd is 88 and from NW Iowa. He was so tickled to meet someone from his home state! We ordered our lunches and went separate ways. When we were leaving we waved goodbye to them and went out the door. Before we could get far here comes Lloyd, chasing us down to "hear about what's the word in Iowa these days?" He must have hurried to catch us, it was so cute. His wife joined us (after making it known that she doesn't usually clean off the table herself :) and we stood there for a long time hearing stories about growing up in Iowa, how they met and were married 3 weeks later and much more! We love meeting new people on our trips! Lloyd and Ruth were certainly a favorite!
