9 Month Pictures

This photo session was very different from the previous ones we've had...a lot faster! We had to capture those smiles and cute expressions quickly before our little "cyclone" was on the go! Here are some of my favorites:

Cyclones Win!

It's a very happy day at our house today because the Cyclones beat Nebraska in Lincoln for the first time since 1977!! Daddy's excitement during the game rubbed off on our lil Cyclone fan...

Our Little Friend Leah

Gage and I have a little friend named Leah.

Isn't she a cutie? We love those pigtails!

Leah is about 2 months older than Gage. Sometimes she comes to our house to play and other times Gage goes to her house. When she is at our house Gage loves to follow her around and do what she's doing (ie. take her toys, which provides a great teaching opportunity! :)

Yesterday while Leah was over they were as cute as can be together and very busy...

We love having Leah over to play!

Gage's New Game

This morning while Gage was eating breakfast he was making some very funny faces! I turned to get my camera and when I turned back, this is what I caught instead: (sorry you'll have to tilt your head until I figure out how to rotate a video!)

Someday I'll have to put a stop to that, but today I find it too funny!

30 Weeks?!

I feel like I say it constantly, "I can't believe how fast time flies..." But this time I really mean it! Last year at this time I knew I was near the end of my pregnancy and I felt like it should be...it was a long time in coming! But this time around, it is unbelievable how fast it has come.

I am definitely ready to not-be-pregnant-anymore. It is getting harder and harder to keep up with my busy little boy! We watch a little more tv than I would like and I take an afternoon nap everyday at the same time he does. But I am trying to soak up all the precious time I have with just him. I admit, I feel guilty that he will be stripped of that sweet one on one time that most first children get.

And then I think of preparing for our sweet Baby E2's arrival... like going through newborn clothes and buying newborn diapers, and I get excited. And I think of how wonderful it is to be loved by my sweet Gage, and how much I love him, and my heart melts. I will soon have TWO to love and be loved by! What a tremendous blessing.

And then I remember how long I feared that I would never have a child born from my own body, and now I am experiencing my second pregnancy. I can't help but marvel at God's goodness to us, and I don't want to take a thing for granted.

So...although I am tired and wonder how our lives will be changed dramatically once again, I am so very thankful, and am anxiously awaiting our second miracle...!

A Day in the Life

Just another typical day for the Gager...

Playing with his favorite toys. (Yes, Daddy's slipper was one of them today!)

Getting into mischief.

Looking adorable as ever (Here's a sneak preview of some "winter attire").

Life is good!

A Girls' Weekend in Galena

Ahh, a fall getaway in Galena with my mom and sister, what a treat! And I learned that Daddy and Gage can get by just fine without me. :) It was a great weekend! The weather was very cold, but it didn't stop us from having a good time and enjoying the craft fair. I even got some Christmas shopping done!

So when's the next one?!

A Happy Friday

Yay it's Friday! I just love Fridays, especially when a fun weekend is in store! This weekend I am doing something I haven't done in a loooong time...I am going away on a girls' weekend with my mom and sister! We are going to the Galena Country Fair. I have never been before but hear that it's amazing. Just hoping that the weather cooperates...and also hoping that Gage and Daddy have a good time! I have to admit that I am feeling a lump in my throat today as I think about being away from my boys for two whole days. I mean, how can you not miss this little dude?

But I am so looking forward to spending time with my mom and sis and experiencing a little freedom! And I think this might be a good chance for Daddy to see what my days are really like... :)

Freedom!

We decided to take the Play Zone gate down between the living room and kitchen to give Gage more room to roam. He is loving his new found freedom! This is where he likes to go:

Yes it creates a constant mess of tupperware, kitchen rugs and fridge magnets, but my tupperware cupboard has never been very organized anyway and the rest is an easy fix!

9 Months Old!

Dear Gage,

Today is your 9 month birthday! It is a beautiful fall day and you are full of vim and vigor...which means you are on the go go go! These pictures tell the story:

It's not so easy getting you to sit still anymore!

These are some new developments in the past month:

You are saying Mama! And we know you know what that means because you will reach for me as you say it. The first time it was clear to us Daddy was holding you and I walked into the living room and you looked at me and said, "Mamamamama!"

You are pulling yourself up on things! It all started with the side of the bathtub, and now it's the couch, ottoman and our legs. It does make cooking and getting myself ready a bit more difficult now, but I still love it!

You now actually like your bath! Yay!!! No more tears. Your new duckie tub must have done the trick.

You are eating finger foods! Cheese, toast and Ritz crackers are your favorites. You still like your Gerber puffs too. Besides the usual pureed veggies, fruit, and Gerber meat choices, you have eaten bits of pancake, french toast and scrambled eggs so far. We love sharing our food with you!

You have four teeth and two more on the way. Your beautiful blond hair is coming in undeniably wavy. And listening to you talk your goo-gah, doo-dah language is music to my ears!

You are our beautiful blue-eyed, happy little bud bud that we couldn't possibly love more. That smile of yours brightens our days, and making you laugh brings such joy to our hearts. Our prayer for you, sweet boy, is that you would grow up healthy and strong, following Jesus with your whole heart and knowing how much your mom and dad love you!

You'll always be holding my heart,
Mommy
